Suspect in Knoxville homicide arrested in Detroit
UPDATE Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017: The suspect in a West Knoxville homicide in August has been arrested in Michigan.
A Knoxville Police spokesperson said 23-year-old Jaleen Genard Allen is being held in the Detroit Detention Center. Allen, who is from Detroit, was arrested in connection to the death of 28-year-old Michael Johnson.
Johnson was found dead in his home on Agnes Road in West Knoxville early in the morning of Aug. 29.
Two KPD investigators are in Michigan to interview Allen, the KPD spokesperson said.
He will have an extradition hearing in the next few days.
UPDATE Thursday, Sept. 13, 2017: Knoxville police are looking for a Michigan man wanted for the murder of man found dead in a West Knoxville neighborhood.
A first degree murder warrant has been issued for Jaleen Genard Allen for the murder of Michael Johnson on August 29.
Allen, 23, is from Detroit and travels frequently to Knoxville. Investigators say he is known to carry more than one gun, including one that hangs from a chain around his neck. Allen should be considered armed and dangerous.
Allen's arms and torso are covered in multiple tattoos.

UPDATE Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.: KPD has located both persons of interest in the shooting death of 28-year-old Michael Johnson.
Investigators detained 27-year-old Michael Clayton and 19-year-old Lacie Morgan Hunt for questioning. Neither were arrested and no charges have been filed at this time.
UPDATE Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at 12 p.m.: The man found shot in a home in the Bearden neighborhood has been identified.
KPD said Michael W. Johnson, 28, died of at least 1 gunshot wound. He was found on Aug. 29 on Agnes Road in West Knoxville.
Police have asked for the public's help locating two people believed to be connected to the case.
Michael Clayton, 27, and Lacie Morgan Hunt, 19, are persons of interest. Lacie also goes by the name Sierra, according to Knoxville Police.

ORIGINAL STORY Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017: Knoxville Police found a man's body while investigating a shooting in West Knoxville Tuesday morning.
According to KPD and dispatch, police responded at 6:15 a.m. after someone at a business heard several shots fired near Kingston Pike at 418 Agnes Road.
Officers said they found body of a man believed to be in his 20s about 25 to 50 yards from the road. One person was inside the house at that address when investigators swept the area.
Agnes Road has been blocked off as four forensics units investigate. Investigators believe this was not a domestic dispute.
