Young actors and actresses at Knoxville Children's Theatre are bringing the Junie B. Jones books to life in their latest production. Junie B. Jones Jr. The Musical runs Feb. 21 - March 8. Tickets are $10-$12.

Theatre Knoxville Downtown's latest production, 'Barefoot in the Park' is playing through Mar. 8, 2020. Tickets to the Tony Award-winning play cost $18.

Hamlet is showing at the Ula Love Doughty Carousel Theatre at the University of Tennessee. The Shakespeare classic runs through Mar. 15.

The Downtown Knoxville Boat Show is going on all weekend at the Knoxville Convention Center. This is the 10th year for the event that features hundreds of vendors.

The Pro Gravity Tour Windrock Bike Race is one of the largest mountain bike races in the country. Spectators are welcome. There are events Thursday through Sunday.

Blount County Friends of the Library is hosting a pre-owned book sale this weekend. The sale is open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blount County Public Library lower level.

Students at Central High School have been working hard for several months in preparation for their production of Beauty and the Beast. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. There is a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10.

The Jack and Jules Children’s Consignment Show is going on at the Knoxville Expo Center Thursday through Saturday. Doors open at 10 a.m. each day.

It’s the first Friday in March, which means it’s time for Knoxville’s First Friday Artwalk. Head downtown for art galleries, drink specials, live entertainment and more.

The Gatlinburg Improv Fest is Saturday at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre at Traffic Light #3. There’s a free Intro to Improve Workshop on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. where you can learn all the basics. Other improv workshops held throughout the day cost $15 each.

Akima members are presenting their annual Cabaret at the Bijou Theatre on Friday and Saturday. The witty performances raise money for Akima’s grant program. Akima Club of Knoxville is a women’s service club that was founded in 1947. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. There’s also a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday. There’s a dinner and dance at the Holiday Inn Downtown that follows the evening performances.

Students at Oak Ridge High School are performing ‘The Little Mermaid’ at the school’s performing arts Center this weekend. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. There are 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $9 to $10.

Knoxville News Sentinel’s Spring Home and Garden Show is Saturday and Sunday at the Knoxville Expo Center. Adult admission is $5.  HGTV’s Jim Parks, the host of ‘New Spaces,’ will be leading multiple seminars each day.

Make your own Ft. Ligonier moccasins during a hands-on workshop at the historic Ramsey House. Tickets are $20 and include all the supplies you’ll need to make these leather shoes. Seating is limited, so sign up in advance. The workshop lasts from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

It’s time for Mardi Growl in East Tennessee. The annual parade and festival raises money for Young-Williams Animal Center. The pet parade steps off at 11 a.m. in Downtown Knoxville. There will be more than 60 vendors and food trucks set up throughout the festival that lasts until 3 p.m.

The 38th Annual Smoky Mountain Model-Con is Saturday at Knoxville Catholic High School. Amateur modelers can enter three creations into the contest for $10. It’ll cost $1 for each additional model entered. If you want to check out all the displays, it’ll cost $5 for adults. Children under 18 can enter for free. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Judging ends at 3 p.m.

Musicians with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will be accompanied by acclaimed magician Michael Grandinetti on Saturday during a visual musical experience at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. Tickets start at $38. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Walters State Community College is hosting its Shamrock Shuffle 5K on Saturday at 8 a.m. The course begins on campus and continues to College Square Mall. Registration costs $30 to $40.

Fathers and daughters of all ages are invited to a night of dancing at the Farragut Community Center. The Shamrock Ball is Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 per couple or $30 for an entire family.

Dragonfly Circus & Aerial Arts Studio presents its annual Circus Extravaganza this weekend and next. The performances benefit programs that share the circus with under-served people and people with special needs. Tickets range from $10 to $12. The shows are Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. There’s also a 2 p.m. performance on Sunday.

The Sleeves4Needs Gala is Saturday at the Foundry in Worlds Fair Park. The nonprofit focuses on the improvement of urban communities by providing supportive programs and services. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Slip-on your running shoes Sunday for the Bridges and Brews Fun Run hosted by One Riverwalk. The event is free, and the first 50 people to sign up will get a free T-shirt. The 3 p.m. run begins and ends at One Riverwalk Apartments in South Knoxville, where Alliance Brewing Co. will be serving up beer.

Sunday is Family Day at the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture. This month, the focus is on Medieval times with a new exhibit called ‘Visions of the End.’ There will be activities, crafts and tours between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The Dark Hollow Wallow race is Sunday in Maynardville. The kids' trail run begins at 1:30 p.m. The adult 11-mile and five-mile races begin at 2 p.m. Registration costs $20. The event takes place at Big Ridge State Park.

Run 3.21 for Down Syndrome Awareness on Sunday. The Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee is hosting a run on Sunday on Sutherland Ave. Participants can choose between 3.21 miles or  3.21 kilometers. The event begins at 3 p.m.

Musicians with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform alongside students in the Maryville High School Orchestra on Sunday. The event is free and begins at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Maryville.

The Tennessee Stage Company is holding auditions for its 30th anniversary season of Shakespeare on the Square. Auditions are Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
