ID=14126027Knoxville will welcome our nation's greatest heroes in September, and if you'd like a chance to join in the festivities at the Medal of Honor Convention, you can get your free tickets on Friday.

The Medal of Honor Convention will be held September 10-13 in Knoxville. All living participants of our nation's highest military honor will be invited to attend, along with their families and supporters.

"The public events are designed to engage the Knoxville public with the convention," said Joe Thompson, co-chairman of the Medal of Honor Convention – Knoxville. "It is an honor to host our nation's greatest heroes and we want to share this privilege with the community."

A limited number of free tickets to the public events will be available at noon on Friday, August 22 through the convention's website:

Knoxville Welcomes Our Nation's Greatest Heroes Concert

The concert is September 11 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre and will feature performances from The Charlie Daniels Band and the Air National Guard Band of the South.

Autograph Sessions

The autograph sessions are September 12 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Knoxville Downtown World's Fair Park, Grand Pavilion Ballroom. There will be four autograph sessions each lasting 25 minutes. Those interested in attending may reserve two tickets per session.

Town Hall Forums

Seating for the two Town Hall Forums will be on a first come, first serve basis. They are scheduled for September 12 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the University of Tennessee, Cox Auditorium at the Alumni Memorial Hall and Y-12 National Security Complex New Hope Center. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask the Medal of Honor recipients questions. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
