It's among Grainger County's greatest claims to fame: beautiful, juicy tomatoes. The 22nd Grainger County Tomato Festival kicks off on July 25 and runs through Sunday, July 27 at Rutledge Middle School (Hwy. 11W, in Rutledge, Tennessee)

The Grainger County Tomato Festival was first held in 1992 and was organized to promote the county's most celebrated crops. And the pickings are said to be bountiful thanks to this season's light rains. Grainger County farmers credit the weather with leading to some beautiful produce to sell this summer.

One of the highlights the great Tomato Wars returns with 2 events: Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (Behind the Vo-Tech Building).
