Cake Ingredients:

4 sticks butter
1 can pumpkin

2 cups sugar
6 eggs

Dry Ingredients:

1 1/3 cup flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice

Icing Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt

2 egg whites
6 tbsp. powdered sugar

Cake Directions:

In a sauce pot melt butter, then remove from heat and stir in can of pumpkin

In a mixer combine sugar and eggs, then add pumpkin/butter mixture and combine well.

Add dry ingredients to the mix and pour into greased sheet pan.

Bake at 350 for 22-24 minutes.

Icing Directions:
Add sugar, water, corn syrup and salt to bring to a boil. Let the mixture reach about 230-240 degrees.

Whip egg whites until peaks form and then slowly pour in hot syrup mixture.

then add powdered sugar and 1 tsp.cinnamon. Whip until thickened.

Spread on cooled cake.
