1 medium head cabbage or 2 bags shredded cabbage

1 onion, diced

3/4 c. sugar

1 c. cider vinegar

3/4 c. oil (olive, canola, or safflower)

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. celery seed

Mix cabbage and onion in a large bowl and pour 3/4 c. sugar over mixture. Bring remaining ingredients to a boil and pour over cabbage and sugar. Stir and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
