Spotify will launch a new playlist on Friday for legendary country artists releasing new music, including new music from Dolly Parton.

The New Traditions/Country Heroes playlist is a collaboration between Spotify’s global head of country music John Mark’s and Parton’s long-time publicist Kirt Webster.

“I’m so excited to be a part of the launch of the New Traditions/Country Heroes playlist on Spotify,” Parton said. “It’s really important to keep up with the times and I’m thrilled to bring the fans these ‘Pure & Simple’ songs. They come from the heart and I sure hope everyone enjoys them.”

In addition to Parton, other artists featured on the playlist will be Vince Gill, Reba McEntire and George Strait.

The playlist will launch by debuting five new songs from Parton’s new album “Pure & Simple.”

“The New Traditions/Country Heroes is a playlist where legacy artists making current music can be heard anytime on demand,” Marks said. “I have nothing but admiration and respect for all of the artists represented in this list and Spotify is proud to provide this platform to those who are still out there on the road and making great music.”

The new playlist will feature liners from Parton “saluting the premiere of the playlist and release of her album,” according to a media release.

New Traditions/Country heroes will launch with over four hours of hand-picked tracks including music from T.G. Shepard, John Conlee, Lorrie Morgan, T. Graham Brown, Johnny Lee, Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr., Gene Watson and others.
