The case against a man wanted for questioning in the shooting death of Fulton High School student Zaevion Dobson will go to a grand jury.

Kipling Colbert Jr.'s preliminary court hearing was scheduled for Wednesday morning. Colbert was in the courtroom, but instead of calling his case, the judge made the grand jury announcement.

Authorities charged Colbert with evading arrest for trying to run away from police officers after a traffic stop on April 4. He also faces a felony charge for a drug-free school zone violation.

Colbert does not face any charges at this time in the death of Dobson, who was shot and killed while protecting his friends from gang violence on Dec. 17, 2015.

Colbert was wanted for questioning months before authorities arrested him.
