UPDATE, March 12, 2018: Officials have released composite drawings of two of the three suspects in an attempted child abduction in West Knoxville earlier this year.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says three men tried to take a baby from its mothers arms at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Walker Springs Apartment Complex on January 31.

The woman held onto her baby, and the men stole the woman's purse and other belongings. No one was injured in the struggle.

ORIGINAL STORY, January 31, 2018: Knox County deputies are searching for three Hispanic men accused of trying to take an infant Wednesday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., a woman said the three men grabbed her infant in the parking lot of Walker Springs Apartments. The mother resisted and got her child back, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

During the struggle, the sheriff's office said the woman's personal belongings, including her purse, were taken.

The suspects left in what is described as a white sedan (possibly a Nissan) with a black hood and a red driver’s side door. Neither the mother nor the child was injured during the incident, KCSO said.
