The Knoxville Police Department said a teenager was shot at an East Knoxville home on Wednesday night just before midnight.
KPD said a 16-year-old girl was inside the home in a bedroom on the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue when someone outside fired multiple gun shots at vehicles parked in the yard and at the home.
Authorities took the girl to the University Medical Center for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries, according to KPD.
Knoxville police officers said the girl had gunshot wounds to her wrist and lower back when they arrived around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.
KPD said at least 12 people were inside the home at the time of the shooting. None of the 12 could provide suspect information, according to Knoxville police.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
