KPD: Knoxville child found after being taken by non-custodial mother on Christmas

Devontae Clark, 5, was removed from a residence in Knoxville around 1:30 p.m. Monday by a non-custodial parent who doesn't have visitation privileges, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

UPDATE 3:15 PM TUESDAY: The Knoxville boy who was the subject of a brief AMBER alert Tuesday afternoon has been found.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, Devontae M. Clark was found safe in Nashville. A "suspect" was in custody, according to an announcement Tuesday afternoon from KPD.

The AMBER alert was issued about 2:15 p.m. The boy was located within an hour.

KPD said when the AMBER alert went out statewide, tis came into the Nashville Metro Police Department's North Precinct that the non-custodial parent, Ashlee Clark, was in Nashville.

The TBI said he was removed from his aunt's residence in Knoxville around 1:30 p.m. Monday by his mother Ashlee Clark.

According to Knoxville police, Devontae is a black male, 2' 6” tall, and about 45 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray Batman T-shirt.

The suspect has been identified as Ashlee Nicole Clark, 27, about 5' 3” and 153 pounds, with a red Mohawk. She has an active warrant for custodial interference.

The child and suspect were last seen in a white Ford Explorer with a temporary license tag. KPD said they may be also in the company of another black female, Takeya Shilon McMahan.
