A Virginia truck driver was arrested after leaving the scene of a fatal crash in Bell County, Ky.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Anthony W. Brewer, 42, was heading north on US 119 Thursday when he crossed the centerline and sideswiped a pick-up truck. The pick-up, being driven by 47-year-old Tony Hatfield, flipped over.
Brewer's coal truck then struck a Nissan Maxima a short distance away. The driver of the Nissan, Lavondia G. Hensley, of Coldiron, Ky., and her passenger, James Miracle of New Tazewell, Tennessee were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Brewer left the scene and was later located at a Harlan County hospital. He was arrested and taken to the Bell County Detention Center.
He's charged with leaving the scene of an accident and operating on a suspended/revoked commercial driver's license. Records show Brewer is being held on $100,000 bond.
