A man is facing serious time behind bars after he was convicted of robbing two convenience stores in a single day.

35-year-old John Christopher Schubert was convicted of armed robbery and other charges in a pair of robberies in Knoxville that occurred in 2015.

According to the Knox County District Attorney's Office, Schubert entered the Breadbox convenience store on May 2, 2015 at 1:50 a.m. at 5340 Millertown Pike wearing a ski mask and pointing a gun at the cashier, demanding money.

Schubert made off with 19 dollars before robbing another Breadbox on 6210 Asheville Highway, making off with $120.

Knoxville Police responded and were able to locate Schubert's vehicle along with the BB gun he used in the robberies that he had stolen from a Wal-Mart an hour before the first robbery.

According to the DA, Schubert has eleven prior felony convictions ranging from burglary to drug dealing offenses.

He is scheduled for sentencing on January 26, 2018 and prosecutors are seeking an enhanced sentence based on his history on top of a minimum twelve years in prison without parole.
