The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has not indicated whether they have a suspect or a person of interest. TBI and the District Attorney's Office are assisting with the investigation.

Strictland's death is one of three for Monroe County over the weekend. Saturday, an 84-year-old man died in Vonore after what deputies called a "tragic accident" when a bulldozer ran over him. Sunday, 57-year-old Kathy Bookout was found dead in her Madisonville home from a gunshot wound. A man is charged with first degree murder in her death.

Monroe County Sheriff, Bill Bivens, said the deaths has been keeping investigators extremely busy. Sheriff Bivens said, "It gets pretty busy. Major crimes, we've got 48 hours to make sure it's solved or try to because that's your most critical time. I guess our adrenaline kicks in and we go all the way. We try to stay on track and work things hard."
