Knoxville police identified a man they believe shot and injured two people in north Knoxville Thursday evening.

Officers accuse Nathan Flemming, 20, of allegedly shooting two people at 400 block of Cedar Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Flemming is facing charges for attempted first degree murder, aggravated robbery, carjacking, and possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony.

When police arrived, they found a victim suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds in an alley. Authorities said they found a second victim with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds inside the apartment. Crews drove both victims to UT Medical Center.

Officials said Flemming is still on the run.

(Knoxville) Two people were injured by gunfire in a north Knoxville neighborhood Thursday night.

According to Knoxville Police Sergeant David Sanders, officers were called to the 400 block of Cedar Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

When officers arrived, Sanders said they found a victim in an alleyway with what appeared to be non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.

Another victim was found inside the residence at 457 Cedar Avenue with what appeared to be potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

Both victims were transported to U.T. Medical Center.

Witnesses told police about a male suspect who had left the scene shortly after the shooting happened.

Officers had blocked off the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Felts Street, which is in the Lincoln Park neighborhood one block south of Chickamauga Avenue.

KPD's investigation continued Thursday night.
