The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a stolen van crashed into a Weigel's convenience store Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the incident shortly before 2 a.m. at the Weigel's at 9710 Westland Drive.

The van belonged to the Korean Church of Knoxville.

According to the sheriff's office, an officer noticed glass on the roadway before getting on Pellissippi Parkway toward Northshore Drive. When checking businesses in the area, he found a 2006 Ford E-350 van abandoned on the roadway off Town Center Boulevard.

The vehicle was damaged on the back. KCSO said the driver side door lock had been pried out and the ignition was tampered with to start the van.

Nothing was taken from the store, but officers said there was significant damage to the front.

KCSO has not named any suspects yet.
