UPDATE: A 30-year-old Knoxville man is charged with attempted first-degree murder after police say he stabbed a woman inside her apartment Sunday morning.
Knoxville police said members of the U.S. Marshal's Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force arrested Andrew James Kolopus Tuesday in a Clinton Highway business parking lot.
Kolopus is accused of stabbing a 28-year-old female inside her apartment on Pleasant Ridge Road Sunday morning.
The stabbing victim is still being treated in a local hospital, police said.
Kolopus is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.

At around 11 a.m., officers said they found a 28-year-old female inside her apartment suffering from numerous stab wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, according to Knoxville Police.
This incident is being investigated as a case of domestic violence and the suspect has been identified. The apartment was processed for evidence and multiple witnesses were interviewed by investigators.
KPD said efforts are underway to locate the suspect.
