A Tazewell man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death a 13-month-old girl.
Denver Maples, 27, pleaded guilty Monday, and was sentenced to 55 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
Maples man was accused of killing 13-month-old Maci Tindall-Scott on Sept. 6, 2016.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies including Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office and the Tazewell Police department.
TBI began investigating the suspected abuse of Maci on in September 2016 after police found the 13-month-old girl unresponsive in an apartment. The baby died three days later.
