A teacher's assistant at Lenoir City High School has been charged with having sexual contact with a 17-year-old student.
According to court documents, a student sent a picture of the 17-year-old male kissing Katelyn Samuels, 22, to the assistant principal.
Investigators with the Lenoir City Police Department determined the photo was taken on or about April 17 on Jackson Bend Road in Loudon County, in an area known locally as the "bluffs."
The student was interviewed at the school, and he admitted to kissing and inappropriately touching the special education teacher's assistant on more than one occasion. Some of the sexual contact happened while Samuels was caring for the teen and his sister while their mother was out of town.
When Samuels was arrested, she admitted to kissing and being touched by the teen, according to the court documents.
She was charged with sexual contact with a minor. She has a court appearance scheduled on May 5.
WBIR has reached out to school officials to find out Samuels' employment status, but has not heard back.
