(WBIR-Knoxville) The trial for a man accused of severely beating a tow truck driver started Monday.
Tycorrian Taylor, 23, is charged with attempted first-degree murder. Knoxville police said Taylor attacked Ron Gandy, 48, from behind at the Pleasant Terrace Apartments in northwest Knoxville. Gandy was trying to tow Taylor's Lexus, prompting a fight between the two men. The attack left Gandy paralyzed.
Gandy took the stand Monday for the prosecution to talk about September 2012 attack.
Taylor was released on bond until last month. Judge McGee placed Taylor back into state custody after he missed several probation meetings.
