ID=11142465(WBIR - Knoxville) Downtown Knoxville businesses are expecting an increase in business this weekend with multiple festivals and events taking place.

Mast General Store Area Manager Nick Waller said the Gay Street and other downtown businesses see an influx of people during the big event weekends.

"We enjoy a little bit of a benefit from it," Waller said. "We can definitely see when we're looking at sales on a Rossini Festival night versus a normal Friday night."

Visit Knoxville has been promoting the events this weekend, including the Kuumba Festival, Big Kahuna Wing Festival, PrideFest, Brewfest, and the Market Square Farmers' Market.

Jennifer Morris, senior director of sales and service with Visit Knoxville, said there is something for everyone to enjoy at the festivals this weekend.

"It's a great way to expose the community to the downtown area and various parts of Knoxville and get them out to do something different they've never tried before," she said.

Morris said multiple roads will be closed downtown so people should arrive early to find a parking space.
