I first joined the WBIR news team as in intern in 2015 and returned full time in January 2017.
I was raised in Fountain City and Maryville and am grateful to be telling the stories in the communities my family has called home for more than a century.
While at Maryville High School, I played football, rugby and also played trumpet in the band and jazz band.
After graduation I went to Nashville to attend Belmont University.
At Belmont, my experience varied from technical production training in historic Columbia recording studios on Music Row to studying the history of city politics with former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.
While at Belmont, I was the managing editor of the university’s online newspaper. I was also the post-production manager for the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music’s student-produced arena concert series.
My TV career started with an internship at Nashville Public Television. At NPT, I edited the Emmy-winning series “Tennessee Crossroads.”
Following my internship at NPT, I interned at WBIR in Knoxville then WZTV Fox 17 and WKRN News 2 in Nashville.
When I’m not working, I love fly fishing in the Smokies and the Cherokee National Forest. I also love cycling the rural roads of East Tennessee and trying out new restaurants.
