A new Knoxville adventure park will be designed to encourage kids to get outside and play.

Legacy Parks helped spearhead the project that includes climbing structures, a three-hole disk golf course, and open meadows.

A $150,000 grant from the Trinity Health Foundation will help build it near South-Doyle Middle School. The location is across from Baker Creek Preserve, a key gateway to more than 50 miles of trails in the urban wilderness.

Construction on the new adventure park is set to start in early 2017.

Designers built it based on the ideas from students.
