One of Gatlinburg's newest attractions is making progress toward its planned opening.

Crews are still working on some of the buildings at Anakeesta Adventure Park. The 72-acre project will feature zip lines, a treetop canopy walk, tree house playground and retail stores. It also will include a ground-level station on the Parkway where guests will catch an aerial lift called a "Chondola" up to Anakeesta Mountain.

Crews on Thursday poured the last foundation for that aerial lift, according to general manager Brandon McCarter. He added that the attraction's zip lines have been installed and tested.

They hope to open the adventure park by the end of June or beginning of July.

However, the park said the mountain coaster is running behind and won't be ready until the end of summer.

Anakeesta is still looking to hire for many positions. You can apply online at the company's website.
