A Knox County Sheriff's deputy shot in the line of duty got a Christmas surprise from his brothers in blue.

Officer Travis Wheat was released from the hospital in time to spend the holidays at home.

"If you don't start crying I will ok. Merry Christmas Wheat," Wheat's friend, Bubba, said in the video.

With the help of donations, fellow officers gave Wheat a new rifle for Christmas. His friend Bubba posted the video on Facebook of the big surprise on Christmas Eve.

Wheat suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs after he was shot responding to call in East Knox County last week.
