Crews battling a large wildfire in Cocke County are working to maintain the containment lines.
Firefighters were kept busy Wednesday evening fighting a new fire possibly caused by wind and blowing debris, according to the Cocke County Emergency Management Agency.
The Neddy Mountain Fire has grown to 1,116 acres and is 85 percent contained, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture said.
Work continues near Highway 25/70 so there may be rolling roadblocks throughout the day.
The largest fire in the state is in Morgan County. The White Oak Circle wildfire has covered nearly 1,900 acres but was 100 percent contained, as of Wednesday evening.
As the wildfires continue to burn across East Tennessee, the state has vowed to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone caught starting those fires.
