Anderson County Schools have announced that they will close due to illness on Thursday and Friday.

The district said it has been monitoring staff and student attendance over the past 2 weeks and has seen an increase in numbers the last two days.

"We are also having a hard time filling classes with subs," Dr. Tim Parrot said in a tweet.

ACS decided to close Thursday, Feb. 8 and Friday, Feb. 9 due to illness. The district will make up one of the missed days on Monday, April 2.

Dr. Parrot tweeted that ACS will excuse all parent notes for students that are out sick on Wednesday, Feb. 7. To be excused, notes must be turned in by Tuesday, Feb. 13.
