Beaumont visual arts teacher Cheryl Burchett put together the school's proposal for a playground that will integrate the school's arts curriculum into its outdoor play area.

Farmers Insurance offers teachers a chance to compete for six $100,000 educational grants.

Beaumont visual arts teacher Cheryl Burchett’s proposal involves, “Moving our arts integrated curriculum beyond the classroom walls and combining it with the excitement of outdoor education. We will repurpose existing but underutilized infrastructure on our playground to create areas for creative exploration, performances and presentations.”

People can vote for Beaumont through Oct. 31. Farmers Insurance will announce the winners of the “Dream Big Teacher Challenge” in December.
