A former Marine's 2700 mile March across America to raise money for veterans brought him to East Tennessee Thursday.

Justin Kuhel is walking from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to Camp Pendleton in California.

He wants to raise at least $100-thousand dollars for the Headstrong Project, which provides mental health support to veterans, and Help Our Military heroes, which creates custom vehicles for vets who have lost limbs.

Kuhel says he wants to raise awareness and support for troops especially after they return home.

"I never really thought about, gave it that much thought, about what happens to these guys when they get back, and that kinda motivated me to do something to help them I guess," said Kuhel.

Kuhel started his walk on May 23rd and will finish in September.

This is the second march he has done to benefit veterans. He previously walked 400 miles from Ohio to Virginia to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project
