Gesture of new car to Tennessee High coach goes national on 'Today'

The coach, athletes and community surrounding the Tennessee High School football program is getting national recognition for helping one of their own, according to WCYB.

During "Hoda's Morning Boost" segment on Friday's edition of "Today," she highlighted a special moment from earlier this week that head coach Mike Mays captured on his Twitter account.

An emotional Coach Squeak, Narcellus Black, is brought out to the parking lot and is given his brand new car purchased by the football family. Mays called Squeak deserving and said his program was blessed to have the assistant as part of their team. They noted in Friday's report that Squeak's old car had tons of miles on it and the Viking family decided to pitch-in and get him a new one.

Mays' video has been viewed more than 7,000 times since Wednesday but it has been seen on Today's Twitter feed more than 6,000 times Friday morning.
