Update on Dec. 9: Some roads have reopened in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Saturday.
Roads Open:
- Cades Cove Loop Road
- Laurel Road
- Upper Treemont Road
- Foothills Parkways
- Cherokee Orchard
- Little River Road
However, a few other roads have closed due to ice or packed down snow accumulation on the mountainous roads.
Road Closures:
- Highway 441 between Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Cherokee, North Carolina
- Forge Creek Road
- West Cove Gap Road
- Cosby Entrance Road

Previous story on Dec. 8: Several roads in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park have closed due to snow and inclement weather.
According to park officials, approximately 3 inches of snow has accumulated at Newfound Gap and snow is continuing to fall across the park with heavier accumulations expected in North Carolina.
The Oconaluftee Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park closed at noon Friday due to inclement weather.
More roads and facilities could close throughout the day as winter weather conditions continue to develop.
