A Morristown driver who was throwing water balloons out of his car is now facing charges after he lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle.

The accident happened Sunday at 6:15 pm on Andrew Johnson Highway in front of the Caballo de Oro restaurant.

According to the traffic crash report from the Morristown Police Department, Kyle Hartman, 21, was driving west on the highway while tossing water balloons out of his window at a friend's car. He lost control and hit a utility pole, which caused his car to go into a spin. Hartman's car then crashed into a vehicle driven by Michael Seals, 54, of Morristown, who had been driving behind Hartman.

Hartman refused medical treatment. He was charged with reckeless driving. Seals was transported by helicopter to UT Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition Tuesday.
