Update on Monday, April 10, 2017: Authorities have released the name of a woman found in a septic tank overflow pond near Meadowview Road in Rogersville.

The body of 38-year-old Donna Young was sent to the Quillen College of Medicine for autopsy. Her last known address was on Pressman's Home Road in Rogersville, and she is originally from Maryland.

According to Sheriff Ronnie Lawson, preliminary autopsy results showed no blunt trauma or visible signs of injury and the actual cause of death is currently undetermined.

Original Story on Wednesday, April 5, 2017: Hawkins County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a woman found in a septic tank overflow pond Wednesday afternoon.

The overflow pond is at 200 Meadowview Rd. Lot 8 in Rogersville. Officials have not released the identity of the woman.

Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said the woman was wearing what appeared to be a tank top, hoodie and blue jeans. He said the woman has a tattoo on her stomach.

Investigators believe the woman had been there for two or three days. They said there was no apparent signs of cause of death. The body has been sent to Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City for autopsy.

The investigation is considered ongoing. Anyone with information about the case or the possible identification of the woman is asked to call the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office at 423-272-4848 or 423-272-6514.
