The Knoxville Fire Department is fighting a residential fire that sparked up near Austin East High School.
Crews arrived shortly before midnight as flames poured out of a residence on the 2800 block of East 5th Avenue. According to authorities, the house was vacant.
Flames could be seen rising above the roof. Knoxville police closed the entire street while crews put the fire out. The street reopened overnight.
