Update 11:55 p.m.: A male suspect involved in a shooting in northwest Knoxville was arrested late Saturday evening, according to Darrell DeBusk with KPD.

The call originally came down as a domestic situation involving a male shooting into a home from a nearby street.

DeBusk says before officers arrived, the same male suspect went into the house and assaulted a woman. The suspected gunman then shot a bullet from within the home. Everyone who was inside the home ran outside except the suspect.

For two to three hours, police and a SWAT team approached the home to try and get the suspect outside.

At around 11:35 p.m., police say they used a "distraction device" to lure the suspect outside the home. That device worked and led to the suspected gunman's peaceful surrender.

Charges are pending at this time, and identities are unknown at this time.

No one was hurt by gunfire in this situation.
