Knoxville Police cleared a suspicious package found on the TVA Towers plaza Tuesday evening.

Police said the package was reported around 5 p.m. when a TVA security guard noticed a large backpack chained to the rail outside one of the entrances and called police, according to KPD Sgt. Scott Coffey.

Coffey said officers called out the KPD Explosive Ordinance Unit to inspect the backpack "out of an abundance of caution."

"The package was investigated and determined to be clothes and a pair of crocs," Coffey said.

He said the incident caused no danger to the public.
