LCUB studying need for improving high-speed internet in the city

LCUB wants people in the community to complete a survey online to gather information.

The Lenoir City Utilities Board announced Thursday plans to launch a study to examine the broadband needs of its residents and businesses in its service area.

The board is strongly urging residents and businesses to take the survey so it can determine the best course for improving broadband services for its customers.

“Before deciding what role, if any, LCUB can play in advancing the availability of these internet services, we need help from residents and businesses,” LCUB General Manager M. Shannon Littleton said.

LCUB has contracted with Magellan Advisors, the nation's leading broadband and smart city consulting firm, to conduct and assist in the development of this broadband feasibility study, according to a release from LCUD.
