(WBIR) A family of osprey have once again built their nest on top of a power pole.

The city of Alcoa Electric Department put a platform up on its power line off Topside Road last year. The birds kept putting branches and limbs on the power lines, which knocked out power to customers. So crews built the platform to keep the power on and the birds happy.

"It's interesting we would rather not have stuff on our power lines, but it has worked out pretty good," said Mike Lindsey with the City of Alcoa Electric Department. "Everybody seems to be interested in it, and it has worked out pretty good to keep the power on."

The electric department first noticed the osprey were back in March.
