The mother of a high school student shot to death last year is now suing the man charged in the case and three other people.
17-year-old Skyler Boring died last May. He was a wrestler at Heritage High School and graduated just a few days before his death.
Last week, Blount County officials arrested an 18-year-old in Boring's death, though the suspect was 17 at the time of the shooting. He's charged with criminally negligent homicide.
On Tuesday, Boring's mother filed a suit against the suspect, and the owners of the property where the shooting happened, Donald Wilson and Daniel Bishop. The suit says they didn't properly secure the gun and supervise the two 17-years-old.
In the $1.5 million dollar lawsuit, Amy Boring says her son's death could have been prevented.
