(WBIR) Alcoa police said a Rockford man gave alcohol to a 13-year-old girl before he sexually assaulted her.

On Tuesday, authorities arrested Cory Taylor Bell, 25, for aggravated statutory rape and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Kris Sanders, with the Alcoa Police Department, said two 13-year-old girls were skating behind an Alcoa grocery store when Bell approached them with alcohol. One of the girls ran off and told her mother that Bell was with her friend. The girl and her mother contacted her friend's father who lives in Blount County.

Blount County deputies went to look for the missing girl in the woods behind the grocery store. Officials said the 13-year-old was drunk and partially undressed in the woods with the 25-year-old man. When deputies approached them, Bell ran off. After an investigation, officials managed to find and arrested Bell.

Crews took the 13-year-old to the hospital. The New Hope Blount County Children's Advocacy Center later interviewed her.

Officials booked Bell in the Blount County Detention Center under at $52,000 bond. His first hearing is scheduled for June 19.
