One person died and another was injured after a car struck a home on Monday night, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

The single-vehicle crash happened when the car ran off the roadway, and struck a residence on East Wolf Valley Road near Nolan Lane around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

Authorities took the other person in the car to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. An Anderson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson did not have information on the condition of the person taken to the hospital.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office also did not know which of the two people was driving.

Authorities said no one was injured inside the home.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Anderson County EMS, Anderson County Rescue Squad, Anderson Fire Department and Claxton Fire Department.

THP is investigating the crash.

Authorities have not released the names of the two people involved in the crash as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
