Pride of the Southland Marching Band cancels public practice due to rain threat

Is it football time yet?

Knoxville — It's almost football time in Tennessee... Are you excited? Maybe you can't wait for the season to start, or maybe you need a little something to get you in the spirit.

Either way, the Pride of the Southland Marching Band is here to solve your football woes... or at least they wanted to do something cool before the season started. Mother nature decided to rain on that parade, though.

The band had invited the public to their practice Friday morning at Neyland to give folks some pep in their step come September. That two hour practice was supposed to start at 9:30 a.m., however, mother nature had different plans.

The UT School of Bands announced it would have to cancel that public practice because of the possibility of rain. However, it sounds like they haven't given up -- and said they'll think about rescheduling the band date.
