The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is closing a few roads ahead Christmas Eve due to the potential for cold winds and possible ice and snow.
At 7 p.m. on Sunday, U.S. Highway 441/Newfound Gap Road will be closed due to potential high winds and snow between Gatlinburg, Tenn. and Cherokee, NC. The Park Service said the road will remain closed through Christmas because of ice and snow.
