Harriman Police Department and Roane County Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting that left one person dead Saturday morning.
Harriman police officers were dispatched to a home off Harding Road. Officers found one man deceased from a gunshot wound and several people at the residence with the victim.
The victim was identified as Harriman resident Jacob Christian Sizemore, 31.
Police said they detained those who were at the residence for questioning with the help of the Roane County Sheriff's Department. One person held for questioning admitted to the shooting as an attempt at self-defense.
Harriman police and Roane Co. deputies said the name of that alleged shooter will not be released. The investigation is ongoing.
