A Sevier County High School student is facing a disorderly conduct charge after authorities say he posted a threatening message about a school shooting on social media.
Sevierville Police Department School Resources Officers learned of the message Wednesday morning, and questioned the student. He was released into the custody of their parents.
Officers consulted with the Attorney General's Office, and then arrested the student Thursday morning on a disorderly conduct charge.
The student was taken to the Juvenile Detention Facility and then released into the custody of his parents. Officials did not say how old the student is.
