Snow day from school? Head to the water park!

Usually the water park is reserved only for guests of Wilderness at the Smokies resort, but on days when local counties cancel class due to weather, they open to the public for just $10.

At 32 degrees outside, it's the perfect weather to put on your bathing suit. Really.

The indoor water park at Wilderness at the Smokies resort was a popular spot for people looking to trade their warm fleece blankets for beach towels.

The water inside is a toasty 84 degrees.

"It's crazy because we've been cooped up in the house with how cold it is, and we come here and feel like we're outside because of how hot it is, said 11-year-olds Ashtin and Skyler, who are just happy to be out of school.

"It's ironic. You can escape the cold weather and experience some warm weather and what feels like sunshine," said Director of Group Sales Nikki Harrell.
