(WBIR) A line of severe storms moving through East Tennessee likely caused a fire at a South Knoxville home Sunday evening.

Knoxville Fire Department spokesperson Captain D.J. Corcoran said the family made it out safely from their home on the 1300 block of Barclay Heights Lane.

Fire crews found flames coming through the roof when they arrived around 9:15 p.m.

Corcoran said while the official cause of the fire is still being determined, they suspect lightning is the cause.

Two firefighters were hurt while responding to the fire. One suffered heat exhaustion, while one was burned when hot embers dropped down the back of his collar.
