Ten About Town Dec. 8-10

The weekend of December 8-10, 2017 will be a busy one and will certainly put you in the Christmas spirit.

Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice continues all week downtown on market square! Bring the whole family! Tickets start at $8 for Children under 12 and adults are $11. You can learn more on their Facebook page.

Marble City Opera and St. John’s Cathedral will host on ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors” Dec. 8-10. Times are 7:30pm on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The play is family friendly, tickets start at $25 for adults and $15 for students.

Christmas at Chilhowee Park kicks off Friday at 6:00! There will be live music, a tree lighting and Santa all at the Chilhowee Park and Exposition Center. Admission is free.

Cherokee Caverns will host Christmas in the Cave starting on Dec. 8.

Fountain City is hosting their Tree Lighting ceremony this Friday at the Fountain City Lions Club starting at 6pm! There will be carols and cookies and the Event is free to attend.

The Students at Pellissippi State will host a Breakfast with Santa event on Dec. 9, from 9am to noon, at the Goins Building at Pellissippi State. The event is open to the community.

Join the Ramsey House on Dec. 8 for a wreath making class. The class runs from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Registration is $35 and materials are supplied. Guests will need to bring their garden shears and gloves.

Take a look into Christmas Past with an Open House at James White’s Fort. Saturday from 11-3 experience what Christmas in the 1800’s was like! Admission is free.

The second annual Holiday Market Sale at Broadways Studios and Gallery starts Saturday from 10am until 6 and Sunday from 12-5. Parking is free and onsite.

The 49th Annual Knoxville Nativity Pageant runs Dec. 9-11 at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. Times are Dec. 9 & 10 at 3pm and Dec. 11 at 7pm. Admission is free.

Join the Tennessee Theatre this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for a film screening of the winter classic “It’s Wonderful Life” presented by the Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. Admission is free!

The Arnstein Jewish Community Center is hosting a Winter Festival and Hanukkah Party on Dec. 10 from 3pm until 5. There will be fun for the whole family! Admission is free but they ask attendees participate in the toy drive by bringing an educational toy or book for the Houston JCC.

Smoky Mountains Blues Society invites you to their annual Christmas party and Concert on Dec. 10 at 3pm at the Royal Oaks Event Center. Tickets for non-members are $10. The party is potluck, so guests are asked to bring a dish or dessert to share!
