12oz (3 sticks) room temperature butter *not margarine*
12.25oz (1-¾ cups) sugar
2 egg yolks
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
15oz (3-½ cups) all-purpose flour
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar together until light in color and fluffy. Add the yolks and vanilla, mixing well. Add the flour and combine thoroughly. Using a scoop or a large tablespoon, make balls of dough with your hands. Shaped dough can be rolled in sugars or sprinkles now! It can also be left as is, & then iced once they are cool after baking! Place on ungreased cookie sheets (or use parchment paper). Bake for about 10 minutes until the cookies are lightly golden just around the edges.
