Two children moved to Children's Hospital after boating accident in Loudon County

UPDATE: A 12-year-old and 13-year-old who were airlifted to UT Medical Center in critical condition after a boating accident on Saturday have been moved to Children's Hospital, Matt Cameron, a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency spokesperson, said in an email.

The two are being taken off ventilators later and moved to a room, Cameron said.

ORIGINAL STORY: Three juveniles are injured after their inner tube hit a bridge pier Saturday afternoon.

Two were airlifted to UT Medical Center in critical condition, a TWRA spokesperson said. The other was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

TWRA said they were tubing behind jet skis. Crews rescued them at Marble Bluff Road.

The accident happened near Polecat Bridge past Highway 72 boat ramp, according to TWRA. Dispatch said it got a call about the incident at 1:38 p.m.
